Water parties are held outdoors. Ideally we look for a park near your home that has a large flat area and access to a tap. If you don't know of a park that meets our requirements you can download a list of our suggested parks here. If you have a large front or backyard that is clear of obstacles then it can be possible to do these parties at your home.
As a rough guide we will need a space roughly 20m square. We prefer slightly larger spaces when possible but this is a good guide when looking for possible locations.
Rain is an unfortunate risk with outdoor parties. If the rain is only light, we are happy to go ahead if you are. The kids were going to get wet anyway so a little rain doesn't worry us. If the rain is too heavy for the party to safely go ahead, or worse if it is too cold and/or windy, we have a few options but we do ask our customers to wait until the day of the party to make an ultimate decision as the weather forecast can be unreliable and will often predict rain for a day that is mostly clear.
The most popular option in the event of bad weather is to reschedule the party to a new date. Customers have 12 months to chose a new date for their event. The decision to reschedule can be made as late as the actual party start time with no fee or additional cost for the new party date. If the customer chooses to cancel their booking rather than reschedule, we are unable to refund any monies paid and the customer may be subject to our other cancellation policies.
In some cases we may be able to offer an alternate party format. This is something we can not guarantee as it is entirely subject to availability of staff and equipment on the given weekend. However, if rescheduling is not an option we will do our best to provide an indoor alternative if wet weather makes an outdoor event impossible.
We MUST have clear access to a working tap that allows a hose to be attached. This is very important for this party and if we arrive at a location to discover there is no water access we may not be able to go ahead.
Please refer to the image below that demonstrates the type of taps that are and are not appropriate. Push button taps for dog water access are not appropriate as we require constant pressurised water at different times. Taps that have the handle removed are fine (provided they work) as our hosts bring a tap key with them in the kits.

We recommend that your invites remind your guests to bring a towel and a change of clothes. We also suggest they arrive wearing old shoes and clothes. It is advisable that children wear shoes for this party as there is a lot of running (and parks sometimes have prickles). The shoes will get wet, so old runners are ideal. If you use the printable invites from our website this advice is already printed at the bottom of the page.
Is there anything I should not provide?
If you bring your own water pistols and water balloons, please wait until after the hosted portion of the party has finished before handing them out to your guests.
We also request that you don't hand out any noise making party favours or party poppers until after the party has finished. While our hosts are very capable, but competing with a large group of kids all blowing whistles and popping streamers to be heard is a big ask for anyone.
It is a good idea to inform your host if any of the guests have special needs. These can include ADHD, autism, aspergers, downs syndrome and other behavioural conditions. While our events are designed to be inclusive for all, there are times when awareness of children with these conditions can allow the host to adapt their performance sightly, particularly when interacting with those children, to ensure they feel safe and included.
For our Water parties we have a limit of 24 participating guests. This is for a number of reasons, including the number of children who can safely be supervised, the amount of equipment provided and the pace at which the games are played. In some cases we can cater for additional guests but this will need to be discussed with the office at time of booking as it often requires the booking of two full party kits and hosts. We do recommend keeping your guest list to the 24 limit if at all possible as our party has been structured to be at its best with these numbers.
Our Water events start for 6 year olds and above. While we are happy to do our best to accomodate smaller and younger children there are some aspects of the party, particularly with the Water Tag equipment, that they may be too young to easily and comfortably use.
We also do suggest you keep in mind relative sizes of children when asking us to include younger members. Adding a couple of 6 year old players to a field of 8 year olds will generally be fine. Adding a couple of 7 year olds to a field of 13 year olds will often be unsafe as the children in question will likely be significantly different sizes.
